What it is
Nitrosigine is a patented complex of arginine, silicate, and inositol designed to deliver arginine more effectively than arginine alone. Arginine is a precursor to nitric oxide, a vasodilator that widens blood vessels and increases blood flow, which is the basis for its use in pre-workout formulas.
Benefits
At 1,500 mg, Nitrosigine has been shown to raise nitric oxide markers and improve aspects of cognitive performance such as the Trail Making Test and immediate memory in healthy adults. Evidence for it improving pumps and exercise performance is more preliminary.
When to take it
Take 1,500 mg roughly 30-60 minutes before exercise. It may also be taken daily, as some cognitive effects were seen with both acute and multi-day dosing.
Side effects
Reported as well tolerated in trials, with self-affirmed GRAS status at 1,500 mg/day; reported effects are minor and infrequent. Independent long-term safety data are limited.
