What it is

GHK-Cu is a tripeptide bound to a copper ion. It is involved in wound healing and signals fibroblasts to upregulate collagen and elastin production.

Benefits

Improvements in firmness and texture in small clinical trials. Evidence is promising but the body of research is smaller than for retinoids.

When to take it

Typically used once or twice daily on clean skin before heavier creams; some users reserve it for the evening and apply vitamin C in the morning to keep the actives separate. Consistency over several weeks is needed for visible firming.

Side effects

Possible irritation. Stability in formulation matters; copper peptides can be deactivated when combined with vitamin C or strong acids in the same product.
