What it is

BPC-157 is a synthetic 15-amino-acid research peptide marketed for tissue repair, but it is not an approved drug, food, or dietary supplement and is sold gray-market. Its claimed effects on healing come almost entirely from rodent studies; human efficacy and safety have not been established. It is included here for transparency, not as a recommended ingredient.

Benefits

There is essentially no human efficacy evidence for BPC-157: a systematic review of orthopaedic research screened 544 articles and found only a single clinical study, with the rest being animal or laboratory work. No effective or safe dose has been established. This entry exists to document the lack of evidence, not to support any benefit claim.

When to take it

No legitimate, evidence-based use guidance exists, and it is not approved for sale as a supplement or cosmetic. Anyone considering it should be aware of its unapproved, prohibited status and consult a qualified clinician.

Side effects

Because BPC-157 has not been adequately studied in humans, there is no known safe dose and no established safety profile, and its angiogenic activity raises theoretical concerns. It is an unapproved drug prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency, and gray-market products carry purity and contamination risks.
